Femstjernen Gletscher, East Greenland

The Sermilik fjord is one of the largest fjords in East Greenland. It is fed by three large glaciers, the northermost of which is shown here in this image by Flickr user FOREVER CARDON. Four large glaciers converge here to form the Femstjernen Gletscher, which flows down out of the bottom of the frame, where it is joined by several other glaciers and becomes known as the MidgÄrdgletscsher, eventually flowing into the head of the Sermilik fjord. The glacier is about five kilometers wide at the point at the bottom of the frame.
