North of Thule
This series of photos from Flickr user Polar Rose Mikkel shows the massive glaciers and barren landscapes of northwestern Greenland, just north of the Thule Air Base. The first photo looks north across an icecap in the foreground, with the Orliks Fjord visible in the background.
The next image shows a close-up view of the Chamberlin Glacier flowing into the Umanap Kangerdlua fjord in the foreground. See the high-resolution version of the image for a more detailed view.
Next we have a wider view of the Chamberlin Glacier, with a large ice cap visible behind the glacier, and in the distance, the waters of Ikersuaq Sound.
Another view of the landscape surrounding Chamberlin Glacier.
Finally, we have this view of Agpat Island, or Saunders Island, which sits in the mouth of the Umanap Kangerdlua fjord about 20 km northwest of the Thule Air Base.
