Geikie Plateau, East Greenland

Flickr user heidikira snapped an excellent pair of high-resolution images over the Geikie Plateau in East Greenland. The images provide a great view of the glaciers, heavy snow cover, and distinctive mountain textures in this region. The first image shows several large glaciers in the foreground, with the ice-covered Geikie Plateau above. In the background, the waters of Scoresby Sund, the world's largest fjord, are visible.

Dendritgletscher, East Greenland

About 45 km west, the next image shows the upper reaches of the Dendritgletscher glacier in the foreground, flowing toward the bottom of the image. In the upper center, the Magga Dan Glacier flows into Scorsby Sund.
