Cuevo Canyon, Chaves County, New Mexico

Here's a series of images from Flickr user knittingskwerlgurl from New Mexico and California. The first image comes from Chaves County in New Mexico, and looks south across a landscape of mountains and canyons. In the foreground are Little Cuevo Canyon (at bottom) and Cuevo Canyon (just above it). In the background, at center, is Lewis Peak in the Guadaloupe Mountains.

California/Mexico border - Mexicali and Calexico

The next image takes us to California's Imperial County, on the Mexican border. The image looks south over the fields of Imperial County. In the background lies the Mexican city of Mexicali, with the border running horizontally across the top of the image. In the upper right, below the border, is the city of Calexico, CA.

Kumeyaay wind farm, Campo Indian Reservation, San Diego County, California

The final image is about 50 miles west of the previous one, showing the Kumeyaay wind farm in California's San Diego County. The project, which opened in 2005 on the Campo Indian Reservation, can generate enough electricity to power about 15,000 homes.
