East Greenland coastal landscape
This image from Flickr user graham.woolrich shows the section of the icecap know as Sikuijivittip Apusia, in East Greenland (looking north). In several parts of East Greenland, the inland icecap extends out onto broad peninsulas, spreading directly into the sea, as we see in the center of the frame, or forming very short glaciers, as in the foreground. In the background, above the icecap, is the mouth of the Mogens Heinesen Fjord.
