Half Moon Bay and San Francisco Peninsula
This series of images from Flickr user Daíthí has shots of the San Francisco Peninsula and the deserts and mountains of California. The first image shown here has the town of Half Moon Bay in the foreground, and the San Francisco Peninsula stretching north into the center of the frame. Downtown San Francisco is the light-colored area on the right side of the peninsula, just above the center of the photo.
About 200 miles southeast, we have this shot of the Temblor Range, a mountain range in the southern part of California's Central Valley. The town of McKittrick, CA, lies on the left (east) side of this photo.
This image shows the west side of the Temblor Range from the shot above. Seen here are meandering dry riverbeds that lead into Soda Lake, in California's Mohave Desert, forming a horse-like shape in the center of the photo.
